This policy explains how Made Simple Games handles information when you visit our ad-free company website at madesimplegames.com and our browser games and game guides at madesimple.games. Our mobile apps have separate privacy policies.

Information used to provide the website

You do not need to create an account or give us your name or email address to play our browser games. The website does use limited technical and gameplay information:

• Device and request information. Our hosting and security providers may process information normally sent with a web request, such as your IP address, browser and device type, requested page, date and time, and diagnostic or security information. This is used to deliver, protect, and troubleshoot the website.
• Player profile and statistics. The site creates a random player identifier, display name, and avatar and stores a signed profile token and game statistics in your browser. Game results may be sent to our service so it can validate and update the signed statistics stored on your device.
• Game and session information. Individual games may save settings, best scores, pending results, and temporary game-session identifiers in your browser.
• Multiplayer information. When you choose multiplayer play, the site sends your signed player profile, session identifier, game actions, and current match state to our matchmaking and game-room service so the match can operate.
• Offline website files. A service worker may use your browser's cache storage to keep game files available and make future visits load faster.

We do not currently use a third-party analytics service on the website.

Browser storage and cookies

The website uses local storage, session storage, and cache storage for player identity, statistics, game progress, multiplayer sessions, and offline performance. Local storage generally remains until you clear the site's data in your browser. Session storage normally lasts until the browser tab or session ends, and cached files remain until the browser or site removes them.

When advertising is enabled, advertising providers and our consent platform may also use cookies or similar browser storage as described below. Where required by law, we will ask for consent before using advertising storage or processing data for personalized advertising.

Advertising and Google AdSense

Advertising is not currently active. If we enable it, ads will appear only on madesimple.games browser-game and game-guide pages; madesimplegames.com will remain ad-free. We expect to use Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies and may receive information such as your IP address, the page you visit, browser or device information, approximate location, and interactions with ads. They use this information to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud and abuse, and, when you consent, personalize advertising.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services in Google's partner-sites notice, and you can manage personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings.

Non-personalized ads are selected using limited contextual information, but they may still use cookies or similar technologies for functions such as frequency capping, aggregated reporting, and fraud prevention. If we add advertising partners other than Google, we will update this policy with information about them and their privacy choices.

Your advertising privacy choices

Before advertising is enabled, we plan to configure a Google-certified consent management platform. In regions where consent is required, it will let you accept, reject, or manage advertising purposes and vendors. Where applicable under U.S. state privacy laws, it will also provide a way to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising. A privacy-choices link will be added to the website when those controls are active.

You can change or remove first-party game information by clearing site data for madesimple.games in your browser. Doing so will reset your browser player profile, saved statistics, local best scores, preferences, and offline files.

How information is shared

We use service providers to host, secure, and operate the website, including Cloudflare. They process information on our behalf under their own service terms and privacy commitments. When advertising is enabled, Google and any disclosed advertising partners will process advertising information as described above. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

We do not sell player profiles or gameplay statistics. Some privacy laws define personalized advertising disclosures as a “sale” or “sharing” even when no money changes hands; when applicable, the consent and privacy controls described above will provide the required choice.

Data retention and security

Most profile and statistics data is stored in your browser. Active multiplayer information is kept only as needed to operate the match and may disappear after all players disconnect. Hosting, security, and advertising providers may retain technical information according to their own policies and legal obligations. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

The website is intended for a general audience, and we do not knowingly ask children to provide personal contact information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us so we can review and, when appropriate, delete it. Before advertising is activated, we will configure age-appropriate advertising treatment where required.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the website, advertising providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the date at the top.
