How to play

Hearts, made simple

  1. Pass. Choose three cards to pass left, right, then across. Every fourth hand is a hold hand.
  2. Follow suit. The 2 of clubs leads. You must follow the suit led when you can; the highest card of that suit takes the trick.
  3. Avoid points. Each heart is 1 point and the queen of spades is 13. You cannot lead hearts until they have been broken, unless you hold only hearts.
  4. Shoot the moon. Take all 26 points in a hand and every opponent receives 26 instead.

The game ends after someone reaches 100 points. The player with the lowest score wins.
